A Private Lake

After deciding a recent heat wave was going to be a little too much to bear when you live in a little apartment with no A/C, I took off to the mountains. I have been reading lots about all the lakes in the Serra’s and the insane amount of Brook Trout in them and it seemed like a fun idea to attempt to catch some. So we strapped a pole to our bag and headed off into the woods. The hike is about 10 miles round trip and does about a 2,000 foot climb. Needless to say you earn it by the time you get to the lake. We spent a couple hours catching fish and listening to the song of the woods. Deer were running around and ┬áit was a strangely well needed break to be miles from the nearest human and even better to be out of range from our cell phones.
